Legal Associate – Contract Desk
Role Description:
Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal materials relevant to cases or projects. Analyze and summarize findings for use by attorneys in case preparation or legal opinions.
Drafting Legal Documents: Assist in drafting various legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal correspondence.
Database Maintenance: Maintain and update legal databases and filing systems to accurately track case information, deadlines, and client details. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Compliance and Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence reviews for mergers, acquisitions, or other business transactions.
Confidentiality and Ethics: Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and ethical standards in handling sensitive information and maintaining client confidentiality.
Specialized Tasks: Legal Associates may be assigned additional responsibilities related to their area of expertise, such as intellectual property research, real estate transactions, or corporate governance matters.

Legal Administrative Assistant
Role Description:
Document Preparation: Draft and prepare legal documents such as contracts, briefs, affidavits, etc. based on the given advice.
Calendar Management: Schedule appointments, court dates, meetings, and deadlines for attorneys. Coordinate travel arrangements and manage attorneys’ calendars to ensure efficient workflow.
Handle client enquiries: Relay messages, and maintain professional correspondence.
File Management: Organize and maintain physical and electronic files, including case files, client records, and legal documents. Ensure files are accurately labeled, indexed, and easily accessible.
Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, photocopying, faxing, scanning, filing, and maintaining office supplies. Provide support to attorneys and legal staff as needed.
Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Legal Database Management: Utilize legal software and databases to manage case information, track deadlines, and generate reports. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data entries. (Training will be provided)
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal software applications (for legal software user training will be provided).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of English language required (Read, write, spoken)
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document formats will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Work experience as an administrator in a legal environment will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of using computers, printers and photocopiers required.
